The Internship Institute (TII) successfully implemented the Internship Seeding Initiative (ISI) in the 10-county region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The program was awarded a $375,000 grant under the Workforce Investment Regional Economic Development (WIRED) initiative, governed by the U.S. Department of Labor Employment Training Administration.
Among its many successes, the ISI education outreach program extended to more than 400 businesses in a broad range of industry sectors including financial services, information technology, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing.
TII’s efforts far exceeded the ISI program goals for engaging employers, students, higher education institutions and fostering collaboration among business, workforce and economic development organizations to fulfill regional recovery goals.
