The Internship Institute (TII) is a non-profit organization (501c3 public charity) that bridges the gaps between classroom learning and workplace ability. TII relies on a collaborative approach to create synergy among higher education institutions, business groups, community organizations, workforce agencies and economic development leaders.

Our marquee program is called the Internship Seeding Initiative (ISI), which develops work-based learning opportunities using a consistent model of best practices to standardize internship program quality, student training and skills development. ISI’s core aim is to ready students for gainful employment and to fulfill ever-increasing industry demands for capable workers.

ISI’s proof of concept was implemented in 2009 in Northeastern Pennsylvania with support from a $375,000 grant under the Workforce Investment in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) initiative, provided by the U.S. Department of Labor Employment Training Administration.

Our Learning Experience Access Program (L.E.A.P) boldly calls for systemic change by establishing a network of internship centers on all college campuses to unify internship administration and modernize student job placement. The L.E.A.P. plan features ApprentiCorps, a program involving internships for non-profit organizations and service learning opportunities for students.
